What a day!

Yesterday I said that I wanted to skip today. When I said it, I meant that I just wanted to get to Thanksgiving faster. However, I really should have skipped today. It was not one of my best. This morning I woke up with an icky eye. I decided to go to the dr so that I didn't spread anything infectious at Thanksgiving. I didn't want to take Ellie to the dr with me for fear that she would catch something at the drs office. So my mom came and watched Ellie for me. Well, I saw the dr and she said I have a little bit of pink eye. This is what I get for working with kids. :-) So, I went to Walgreen's to get my prescription filled. I was sitting at the stop light at third street. When the light turned green I waited a second and a car ran the red light! I was glad I didn't go right then, and I looked and proceeded across the highway. Someone else ran the red light and hit me!! It smushed the whole front end of my car. And the other driver didn't even stop! I had several witnesses wait with me to tell the police that the other driver just drove away. I can't believe that! Their car was pretty messed up. I am so thankful that Ellie wasn't with me at the time. She is always with me so it was amazing that she wasn't at that moment. I am also thankful that I didn't go a fraction of a second earlier. If I had, the car would have hit me in the drivers side door, and that wouldn't have been pretty. So, things were not as bad as they could have been. However, the worst part is that my insurance isn't going to pay anything! Since it was not my fault it would be the other guys insurance that would have to pay. Since we don't know who that it, there is no one to pay! So I am left with no car (it is totaled) and no money to buy a new one :-(
I am sure there are more blessings in this situation somewhere, I just haven't found them yet :-)
I AM GLAD TOMORROW IS THANKSGIVING!!

Christmas Pictures..Check!!

I survived Ellie's Christmas pictures today! :-) I tried to hard to get her to nap all day, but it was not successful. So, by the time her pictures came around at two, she was CRANKY!! As soon as I set her on the floor she started screaming! I knew we were going to have trouble then! She wouldn't let me get an inch away from her. She just clung to me and cried! However, after quite a bit of silliness, she began to warm up.She still wanted to be close to me, though. So in most of the pictures, she is holding my hand. However, despite her foul mood, we did manage to get some great pictures! The photographer did a good job of cropping out my hand. You would never know from her pictures that she wasn't very happy. In a few days I should get them emailed to me...stay tuned! (We just did pictures of Ellie today. We are doing our family pictures in front of our tree.)
I have some good pictures of Ellie on my camera, but I can't find my case that has to cord in it! I hope it turns up soon!!

Please Pray!!

I do not personally know this family, but I feel as if I do. Around 6 months ago, this woman posted on a message board that I read. She was around 20 weeks pregnant and doctors were telling her that her baby would not survive. The baby was not growing and they were told to expect the baby to die at any time. Despite the odds, a few weeks later Kayleigh was born weighing 1 lb 1 oz. She has faced many obstacles but she has done so much better than any of the doctors expected. Her life is truly a testament to the power of prayer. Tomorrow morning Kayleigh is going to face her biggest obstacle yet. She is having surgery to close a hole in her heart. Despite being more that 4 months old, Kayleigh still only weighs a little over four lbs. This is very dangerous surgery for a baby of this size and she has not responded well to anesthesia in the past. Please pray that God's will would be done in this situation and that his peace would be with her mommy and daddy. Check out their blog for updates and more information about this little miracle.
